Plant Response

Dry Ash Digestion

Plant Response® is a rapid and accurate tool for the direct measurement of crop nutrition across virtually any crop type. Plant Response differs from AgVita’s premium plant analysis technique, NU-test® which allows immediate detection and correction of nutritional problems as results are available within 24 hours of receipt of samples. Instead, Plant Response® reports the total amount of nutrients in the plant part submitted for analysis. This makes Plant Response® analysis an invaluable tool for nutrient budgeting, calculation of crop nutrient removal, and determining post-harvest fertiliser applications.

The available range of analytes include: Nitrate (NO3), Chloride (Cl), Phosphorus (P), Potassium (K), Calcium (Ca), Magnesium (Mg), Sulphur (S), Zinc (Zn), Boron (B), Copper (Cu), Manganese (Mn), Iron (Fe), Sodium (Na), Aluminium (Al) and Total Nitrogen. All results are reported in % or ppm of the dry weight of the sampled plant part.

Results are reported in a custom reporting template which compares analytical results to published standards (eg. Reuters & Robinson,1997) to indicate nutrient status at the defined growth stage.

Plant Response® samples forwarded to AgVita Analytical will be processed and results emailed to clients anywhere in Australia within 4 working days of the Lab receiving the samples, any time of the year. We recommend using Express Post to send your samples to us in the most efficient timeframe.
There are specific crop sampling and handling protocols that must be followed to achieve the most accurate results from your analysis – please see below for sampling guidelines and sample submission hints.
